Your new business deserves a real website — designed for you, not picked off a shelf.
I build fast, custom websites for people who are just starting out — and for owners stuck with a DIY site that never quite looked right. Agency-quality work at solo-developer prices, from $300, live in days rather than months.
- Fixed price, agreed up front
- You get the source code
- Reply within 24 hours
“What an absolute pleasure to have my website done! It was fast, easy, efficient and cost effective! Sean was always right on top of things and replied to my questions almost immediately. I would definitely recommend him/them to anyone who is interested in this type of service! 5 stars for sure!”
Two kinds of business owner, one straightforward fix
Most people who call me are in one of these two spots. Both are easy to sort out.
You have no website yet
You've registered the business, you're getting your first customers, and every one of them googles you before they call. A website for a small business with no website yet is the single fastest credibility upgrade you can buy — and you can launch a website fast without learning a single line of code.
You built one yourself — and it shows
You did the sensible thing and made a DIY site. But it loads slowly, it fights you every time you edit it, it doesn't look like the business you actually run, and you're paying monthly for the privilege. Upgrading a DIY website is the most common job I do.
Small business website design, done properly
Everything needed to get your business online and keep it there — build, hosting, and someone to call when it needs changing.
Custom website design
Designed around your business, not dragged out of a template library. Custom website design for startups and established small businesses alike.
Fast turnaround
Website design in a few days, not a few months. Most single-page sites go live inside a week of getting your content.
Website design and hosting
Domain, hosting and SSL set up for you and pointed at your name. No hunting through control panels wondering what a nameserver is.
Website care plans
A monthly website maintenance plan with website updates included — backups, security, and text or photo changes handled by me.
Search-ready from day one
Proper page titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap, so Google can actually find and understand your business.
Looks right on a phone
Most of your customers will see your site on a phone first. Every build is designed for that screen before the desktop one.
Why not just use a website builder?
You can — plenty of people do. Here's the honest comparison so you can decide for yourself.
| DIY builder | Design agency | SwansonX | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Low | $3,000–$10,000+ | From $300 |
| Time to launch | Your weekends, indefinitely | 6–12 weeks | Days |
| Truly custom design | Template-bound | Yes | Yes |
| You get the source code | No — locked to the platform | Sometimes | Always |
| If you stop paying | Site vanishes and you keep nothing | Varies | Site comes offline, but the code is yours |
| Who you talk to | A help centre article | An account manager | Me, directly |
Exactly how, and where, your site gets built
Most agencies won't tell you this. You're paying for it, so you should know what you're actually getting.
Built with custom code
Hand-written code, not a page builder. That's why these sites load in about a second while builder sites take five — there's no template engine, no plugin pile-up, nothing you didn't ask for.
Hosted on Vercel
Your site sits on Vercel's global network, so it loads fast wherever your customer is. HTTPS, backups and uptime monitoring are handled. It's the same infrastructure large companies use.
Supabase for data
If your site needs to remember things — bookings, customer accounts, orders, form submissions — that lives in Supabase, an open-source database. Your data can be exported at any time, in a standard format.
All three are industry-standard tools rather than anything homemade, and you get the source code. That means any developer can pick your site up — you are never stuck with only me. More detail on the stack.
From first message to live site in four steps
No jargon, no long forms, no project-management software to log into.
We talk
A quick chat about your business, your customers, and what the site actually needs to do. Free, no obligation.
I design
You get a real design of your real site — your words, your photos, your colours. Not a stock mockup.
You review
Tell me what to change in plain English. We go back and forth until you're genuinely happy with it.
We launch
I handle the domain, hosting and SSL, put it live, and show you how everything works.

Just need a landing page?
You don’t always need a whole website. If you’re sending paid traffic, an email list or a social campaign somewhere, one focused page that does a single job will beat a five-page site every time. One headline, one offer, one call to action, and nothing else competing for attention.
$100 one-off, and no monthly plan.
Hosting on Vercel is included for the first year — campaign pages rarely need
longer. Or I’ll send you the source code as a zip file to put wherever you like.
- Built around one clear call to action
- Loads fast, so you don’t burn ad spend
- Form or booking wired straight to you
- Tracking ready for Meta or Google Ads
- A year of Vercel hosting, or zipped to you
The things people ask before hiring me
How much does a website for a new business cost?
A custom one-page starter site is $300 to build. A multi-page business site is $600. Both then run on the $49/month care plan, which covers hosting, maintenance and 2 hours of edits every month. You get a fixed quote before any work begins, so the number you're told is the number you pay.
How fast can I get a website for my new business?
Most starter sites go live within a week of me receiving your content, and multi-page builds usually take one to two weeks. If you're launching against a deadline, tell me the date and I'll be straight with you about whether it's doable.
Do I have to pay monthly?
Yes, and I'd rather be straight about that than pretend otherwise. The $300 build is a one-off, then the site runs on the $49/month care plan — that covers the hosting it needs to be online at all, plus maintenance, backups and 2 hours of changes a month. Every website needs hosting from someone. What you're not doing is renting the design: you get the source code, so if you ever want to leave you can hand it to any developer rather than starting from scratch.
What if I already have a DIY website?
That's genuinely useful — it tells me what you like and what you don't. I'll rebuild it properly, keep the parts that work, and move your domain across with no downtime. More on DIY upgrades here.
Do you only work with businesses in Minnesota?
I'm a Minnesota-based web developer and I love working with local businesses, but the whole process works perfectly over email and video calls. I work with clients across the United States.
Can I edit the website myself afterwards?
Yes. I'll show you how to change your own text and images, and you'll have the files. If you'd rather not touch it, that's what the care plan is for — you email me the change and it's done.
Let's get your business online.
Tell me what you do and where you're at. I'll reply within 24 hours with honest advice and a fixed price — whether or not you end up hiring me.
